I’m going to miss it terribly when I leave tomorrow. In June it will be a year since Andre died in the room behind me. The thought of being here then was too much to bear so I’m going away for two months. Will visit my brother and friends in the UK, go to the Isle of Man to watch the TT, then spend the rest of the time in the States with my other brother.
When I return the Gallery will open again – hope my own creativity shows up too.
TAGG, the Textile Art Group Gauteng, and Creative Hands, a group from Pretoria are sending a selection of their work down to be exhibited along with the Inhibitions Exhibition in September. Melanie Brummer will be teaching during that time.
In Dec/Jan an exhibition of 90 works, entitled ‘Movie Directors’ will be showcased. This exhibition has been travelling around the world - the artists are from France, Japan and South Africa and there are some stunning interpretations of the theme.
Then in March 2014, in conjunction with Proe Mosselbaai, Kathryn Harmer- Fox will be teaching a three day workshop here. I’m very excited about that and hope to have the time to do the course myself – her work is fabulous. I would like to hang an exhibition of work from our local Textile Art group so……
I have lots to keep me busy when I return.
Till next time.
