LAND ART PROJECT/ STRIJDOM V D MERWE/ GROOT BRAK 25/9/2014
Strijdom decided to create something based on our heritage as the day before was Heritage Day. The images used were taken from the ancient (roughly 2500 years old) rock engravings found at Driekopseiland in the Riet River, south of Kimberley.Everyone was given a drawing to work from and let loose on the banks of the river in Great Brak, close to the river mouth, as the tide was receding. We started working at 9am and by 4pm the sea had come in and washed everything away. The photos that follow show the progression.
